The Now

The Josh Fund was created shortly after receiving news of Josh’s tragic death. The fund was created in order to honor Josh’s legacy and love for music. Shortly after Josh’s death, the Markowitz Family came together to put together a fund that will continue the movement of music Josh had started and seek new ways to honor his spirit and the power of music both locally and abroad.

Our two main programs include our music scholarship program in partnership with the Witswatersand University in South Africa and NALM (None Other Like Mine), a record label created by Josh several years ago to support artists like himself with mixing and production. These two programs honor Josh’s love for music both locally and abroad and allow us to continue his legacy of music bettering this world.

The Future

The Josh Fund hopes to hold several events including concerts and celebrations of music because Josh loved to do exactly that. These events will showcase our efforts and take place both locally and abroad.

We hope to bring our South African scholars to Seattle, Washington to work with Josh’s Alma Mater, Garfield High School to conduct a workshop with the Drumline where Josh spent four years of his life diving into drumming and music.
